We are excited to have Michelle Rey, the Executive Director of College of the Canyons Foundation presenting, “How to Build a Major Gifts Action Plan” for our February 11th meeting at noon. Although, some nonprofit professionals tend to think major gifts are only for large well established nonprofits, that’s just not the case. - Determining and defining a major gift for your organization
- Using donor data to identify capacity ratings and wealth ratings without paying outside services
- Realistic expectations and strategies when taking a donor through the solicitation cycle
- Important metrics to measure the success of your Major Gift program

Did you miss January’ meeting?
We discussed all aspects of Board Development for your nonprofit organization from a job description for board members and their roles and responsibilities, to board engagement and potential legal pitfalls, and finally looking at encouraging your board members to both “give” and “get”. Our speakers were three members of the steering committee, David Baker of Giving Design, Susan Christopher of Love SCV, and Lois Bauccio of LMB Development Services.
